i love to read the history of places. gore, for whom this range is named, was a wealthy irishman who, in the 19th century, hunted and killed thousands of buffalo, elk, deer, and bear all over these mountains. (fitting name, no?) he camped in high style with silver tea service and 100 servants in his retinue.
